Features

You can quickly compare our services and technology to the others or see how we achieve these features.

Because really relies on a brand new technology you can see in the table below that it can be compared not only to traditional web-hosting but also to other service types. The comparison table below is not just another marketing hype in which you must watch how many YESes we've got but it's meant to help you understand better what kind of services offers and what can do for you.

NOTES:

  • In this table "maybe" means that you wither need to install/configure/setup the service/feature yourself or that availability of the specified service/feature varies between providers.

What do these features mean and how implements them

First of all you must know that as client you will get to choose from a list of servers in several locations around the globe. Your site will go automatically on all these servers. Any change you make to the site or database will also go automatically on all these servers. Your site visitors will always access your site from the server closest to them and this server is also automatically chosen by from the list of servers that you had chosen for your site. In all other aspects is similar to a classic web hosting service although its architecture resambles more with a

  • Increased read performance - your site visitor will automatically access the server closest to him. This translates in minimum network latencies and maximum bandwidth. If the visitor transfers large files from your site the transfers will finish sooner because of the higher bandwidth. If your site visitor will transfer lots of small files the transfer will finish sooner because of the minimized latencies. All these happen if the visitor only reads files and data from the server. When you write something in your database or you write something in a file all changes will go automatically on all servers that you have chosen and thus performance will dicrease according to server distance.
  • Minimized down times - because you have the same data over several servers it is less likely that all of them would fail simultaneously. Servers do fail regardless of how many nines providers offer you in their marketing material. But with as long as you have at least one server up and running your site will work just fine. The probability of several servers failing at the same time is much smaller than single server failure probability. The more servers you choose to host your site on - the less chances you have for your site to be down.
  • Automatic fail-over - when a server fails the visitors use the other servers online. This happens automatically because each time a user visits your site our system chooses the server closest to your user. If one server fails the system automatically eliminates it from the list and your site visitor will automatically go to the server closest to him from the new server list.
  • Live backups - each server has at any given time a complete copy of all data, both files and databases. That's like backing-up all your files and databases continuously. That means that you always have your up-to-date data somewhere else and it also means that you don't have to restore anything from this backup - all data is instantly available from another server. And it gets better because your data is in a place somewhere else in the world. This way you get much better protection in case something really bad would happen.
  • No single point of failure - all servers are equal; as long as you still have a server that is up everything will work just fine. This is a Holy Grail when designing system architecture because it insures that the system stands up as long as it has at least component (in our case server) running. There is no single point on which the entire system depends.
  • Better support for traffic spikes - because your site is on several servers you can support more simultaneous visitors. Being served by several servers at the same time your site will benefit for much more processing power than a site that sits on a single server. This additional processing power is able to sustain traffic spikes very well. The more servers you choose for your site the more processing power you will have and thus the better your site will support traffic spikes.
  • Scalability - not only you can get a different hosting plan but you can also increase or decrease the number of servers or change locations at any time. When your site becomes successful you can choose a new traffic plan or storage plan. You could do that with a traditional web hosting server as well but sometimes it's not enough. You might need more processing power and you can easily achieve this with Tronkle by adding more servers. You can also increase or decrease traffic plan on a specific server or you can choose a new server location closer to your users.
  • Ease of use - you use this service as you would use any traditional web hosting service - everything else is automated; there are no changes needed on your side. Although Tronkle architecture resambles more with a Tronkle offers far more functionality than a but it also enables you to use it just as you would use any classic web hosting service. You can just move your site to Tronkle without making any changes to your code. Try a and you will see that you do have to make some changes.
  • Unlimited number of domains - host as many domains as you wish with full dns administration
  • Unlimited number of databases - you can have as many databases as you wish
  • Low prices - you get high-grade technology usually found in very expensive custom solutions for prices comparable to quality traditional web hosting. Traditionally distributed systems like Tronkle are custom build and are extremely expensive. Tronkle is not just as cheap as classic web hosting but the prices are in the same range which means that it's actually extremely cheap for the features it offers. If you are not convinced try getting a and you will see the price range and the fact that you don't have all Tronkle features.
  • 7 day uncoditional money back guarantee - you can try Tronkle free of charge for 7 days and see if it fits your needs - no contract, no obligations, no strings attached. If you decide at any time within the first 7 days that Tronkle is not for you we will give your money back in full. We will probably ask you why you're leaving Tronkle but regardless of your answer and even if you decide not to answer at all you still get your money back in full.
